Yard Waste Site
This site is for Greenville residents only.
Anyone caught illegally dumping will be prosecuted. The site is located behind
the safety building. This is for residents only. No
businesses. You must check in at the Public Works Office before you drop
off. The site is now manned.
The yard waste site is located at W6895
Parkview Drive. It is located by the Fire Station and Public Works
Building. Watch for the signs.
Due to abuse, we no longer allow the drop off
of appliances. Tires will be allowed only in conjunction with a clean
sweep program. Watch the hot topics page for dates.
Items allowed:
- Yard waste such as grass clippings, leaves and garden
waste. No brush is allowed.
Do not try to hide things in the grass clippings. If this
continues, we may have to greatly restrict drop off hours.
NO PLASTIC OR PAPER BAGS - PLEASE!!!
Brush
If you have any brush that needs to be disposed of, please
call the Town Office at 757-7276 by the 2nd Monday of each month. Your
brush should be placed at curbside with the cut end of limbs facing toward the
road. The brush will then be collected starting on the second Monday. Do not
tie brush or put in plastic bags. Piles should be no larger than 4 X 10.
If there is a large pile and it takes more than 1/2 hour to chip, you will be
charged at the rate of $100 per hour.
Waste Oil
There is a waste oil drop off behind the big metal building.
Users of the site are asked to please empty their own used oil into the
collection tank. Instructions are posted by the tank.
This site can only be used for the disposal of residential used oil (not oil
generated by a commercial business).
Do not mix or blend oil with anything else. Oil that is contaminated with
other wastes, such as gasoline, solvents or anti-freeze, cannot be
recycled. |
