Electronics Round up

Only "household" items will be picked up.  Items such as construction materials, chicken wire, etc. need to be taken directly to the landfill.  Wittenberg will not pick up those items.

Large item pick up cut-off will be 2:00 p.m. the Tuesday before the pick up day.

Extra bags will need a $1 sticker.  Lids on the cans must be closed.

Hints for the new refuse containers

Use tall kitchen garbage bags.  They fit into the container better because of less air.  If using the larger bags, place them side by side.  The way things are placed in the containers does matter or poke a hole in the large bags to let the air out.  Crush if needed. Many are finding they can fit their garbage into the can.
Remember - recycling is mandatory - not optional.  You need to be diligent on the recycling.

Moving?
What do I do with all that garbage?
Call Wittenberg Disposal directly at 888-804-8556.  They will determine a fee and a day to pick up your excess trash that does not fit into your container.

Please leave your container.  They belong to Wittenberg Disposal.

Drain Ditches

Before you fill that ditch in your front yard (or side yard or rear yard if applicable), you need to purchase the proper permit from Town Hall.  Anyone not obtaining a permit will be required to put the ditch back to the way it was at the property owners cost.  This will be enforced.

Licensing of Dogs

All dogs over the age of four months of age must be licensed in the Town of Greenville by March 31st.  This is the requirement of the Town, County and State of Wisconsin.   New residents must license their dogs as soon as possible.  This can be done by mail or in person. We need the rabies shot expiration date, the dog's name, color and breed. Call Laurie at 757-5151 X o for the cost.

Appliances and Tires

Appliances and metal will no longer be accepted at the yard waste site in Greenville due to abuse.  Click here for more information on pick up of these items.

Automatic Payment Withdrawal Option for water bills!

The Sanitary District is now able to offer customers a new way to pay their monthly water and sewer bill - automatic withdrawal from your checking or savings account!  Call 757-5151 if you have any questions.

Tire Drop Off Week

Outagamie County will sponsor another free tire week for Greenville in April 13 - 18, 2008 and September 15 - 19, 2008.  Tires can be dropped off at the Town yard waste site only during this week.

Only tires 17" or less will be accepted.  The collection is limited to residential tires only.  There is a limit of 4 tires per household.  All tires exceeding 17" in size will be charged $4.00 per tire, or $125.00 per ton.

Please do not drop tires off at any other time.  We are allowed two free tire collections per year by the County.  Other times, we are required to pay to dispose of them.

Large Garbage Items

Click here for more information on the pick up or large garbage items.  This includes appliances, furniture, waste oil and batteries.

Controlled Grass or Brush Fires

If you plan on doing a burning give the Fire Chief a call at either 757-7262 or 213-0029.    Many times a fire is controlled but people passing by call it in as a fire.  This saves everyone time by calling in ahead of time.

Holiday Garbage/Recycling Collection

As always, if your garbage is normally picked up on a Thursday, collection will be moved to Friday and a Friday pick up is moved to Saturday during the holiday week.  This is for both garbage and recycling.

Clean Sweep Program

Outagamie County now offers the Clean Sweep Program more often and in different locations.  If these dates and locations do not fit your schedule, you can contact Brown County and bring the items to their facility.  For more information see our Clean Sweep page.

Lottery Credit

If you lived in your home as of January 1, 2007 and are not already receiving the lottery credit, call Debbie at 757-5151 extension 3 and I will send you a card to pre-qualify for the credit on your 2007 tax bill.

Recycling Problems

If your recyclables are not being picked up or if your recyclables were red tagged and you have a question, you can call our carrier "Wittenberg Disposal directly.  Their customer service number is 1-888-804-8556.  Blue bags are no longer acceptable for recycling.

Brush Pick Up

Call 757-7276 or e-mail us (KMcDonald@townofgreenville.com) at the Town Hall by the Friday before the 2nd Monday of each month.  Pick up starts on the 2nd Monday of the month.  Only those addresses on the list will be picked up.  If the PW crew spends more than 30 minutes at a stop, the property owner will be charged at a rate of $100 per hour, with a minimum charge of $50.

Branches need to be piled with the cut side facing the street.  Brush piles should be kept to a size of 4' X 10' or a collection charge may be imposed.

If we have many stops, it may take a number of days to complete.  Please do not put waste, grass clipping, shrub trimmings or leaves at the curb.

Guidelines for curbside placement of brush

Must be called in to be chipped.  Must be stacked neatly and loosely along should of road.  chipping crew must be able to reach from road.  All cut ends should face the road.  Size limitations:  No larger than 12 inches in diameter, no shorter than 36 inches in length. (It is easier and safer for our crews to handle longer branches.)  Not to exceed 75 lbs. in weight.  No root balls, stumps or construction material.

You will be billed for everything over 30 minutes.  The first thirty minutes is free.

File of Life Packets

"File of Life" packets are available at the Town Hall or from any member of the First Responders.  This is a medical information packet designed to provide emergency personnel with necessary medical data to begin treatment.  The "File of Life" refrigerator magnet is a red vinyl packet containing a medical information card for each member of the household.  There is also a smaller version of the packet that can be carried in your purse or wallet or glove box of your vehicle.  A donation of $1.50 per household to cover the cost of the packet is appreciated to help keep the program going.

Animal Control

Complaints continue to come into the office regarding dogs barking and running loose.  The Town of Greenville has a dog ordinance in place and we will enforce it.  If you are having a problem with a dog, call the Town Constable, Vicki Prey at 810-2679.  Ms. Prey will assist you with your problem.
