Simply fill out an Application/Volunteer Form and return to the Village Clerk's Office.  When a position becomes available, your application will be considered for appointment.  

VILLAGE BOARD

Greenville's Village Board consists of  a Village President and four Village Trustees.  Each term is 2 years with no limit on the amount of terms a person can serve. The Board meets on the second  Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Village Hall.  During the remodel at Village Hall, meetings are currently being held the second Wednesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. at the Greenville Fire Station. Meeting notices are posted at the Village Hall and on the Village's website.

PLANNING COMMISSION
The Planning Commission consists of six citizen members and the Village President. The Planning Commission hears rezoning requests, special exception permit requests, reviews preliminary and final plats and certified survey maps, concept plans and make a recommendation to the Village Board for final approval.  These positions are staggered appointments in April, for a three year term.  

BOARD OF APPEALS
The Board of Appeals consists of five citizen members and meets on an as needed basis. The board hears variance and appeal requests. 

PARK, RECREATION AND FORESTRY COMMITTEE

The Village of Greenville Park, Recreation and Forestry Committee is a seven member citizen committee and meets the last Tuesday of the month. The Committee works to plan park improvements in our three parks and maintains the trails and open spaces in the Village.

The seven citizen members and alternate and are appointed by the Village Board for overlapping, staggered, seven-year terms. Duties include park planning and budget recommendations to the Village Board, setting policies and regulations and receiving citizen input.

Park, Recreation and Forestry meetings are held at Greenville Village Hall the last Tuesday of the month at 6:00 PM. During the remodel at Village Hall, meetings are currently being held the second Wednesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. at the Greenville Fire Station. During the summer months the meetings may be held in one of the parks. 

FIRE COMMISSION
The commission consists of five citizen members appointed by the Village President for staggered five-year terms beginning in April. 
An annual meeting is held each May to appoint Commission Officers and to review rules and by-laws.  The commission otherwise meets on an as needed basis.
