PLANNING COMMISSION
The Planning Commission consists of six citizen members and the Village President. The Planning Commission hears rezoning requests, special exception permit requests, reviews preliminary and final plats and certified survey maps and concept plans. They then make a recommendation to the Village Board as to approval or denial.  With exception of the Village President, these positions are appointed after an application of interest has been received.

The Planning Commission meets on the 4th Monday of the month and precedes the Village Board meeting.

PARK COMMISSION
The Village of Greenville Park Commission is a seven member citizen committee and meets approximately once a month. The Commission works on planning park improvements in our three parks and is in charge of all the parks, trails, and open space in the Village of Greenville.

Commissioners are citizen members and are appointed by the Village Board for overlapping, staggered, seven-year terms. Duties include park planning and budget recommendations to the Village Board, setting policies and regulations and receiving citizen input.

Park Commission meetings are held at the Village Hall on the last Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM. During the summer months the meetings may be held in one of the parks. There is not a meeting held during the month of December.

URBAN FORESTRY COMMITTEE
This group works on "Keeping the Green in Greenville". They work on doing plantings throughout the Village. This group has earned a number of grants to help in their efforts. There are no set number of members and new members are always welcome. In 2001, the Group met the qualifications to make Greenville a "Tree City" and since then many more Tree City awards have come to Greenville.
