Emerald Ash Borer
The Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) was first discovered in Wisconsin when it was confirmed in the Village of Newburg in Ozaukee County on August 1st, 2008. The Emerald Ash Borer is a destructive invasive insect that has devastated the ash tree population in several states in the Midwest and Eastern U.S. EAB is spread primarily through the transportation of infested firewood.
The Town of Greenville has developed an Emerald Ash Borer Readiness Plan in an effort to identify the essential personnel, procedures and resources, both human and fiscal, needed to combat the Emerald Ash Borer. The main goal of this EAB Readiness Plan is to minimize the economic, ecological and aesthetic impacts of the Emerald Ash Borer on the Town of Greenville and the surrounding communities when it is discovered in the area.
Please take the time to familiarize yourself with the Emerald Ash Borer as its main mode of spread is through human activities. Explore the documents and links below for the most up to date information on EAB.
