Special Events

Special Events

It is recognized that special events often bring many benefits to the community. However, when these events are held on public premises or public right-of-way, they have the potential to impact the Village’s resources, facilities and property. Each event has unique characteristics and will have a different impact. Therefore, events need to be considered on a case-by-case basis in order to promote the responsible use of publicly owned premises and right-of-way.

In order to help event organizers coordinate their plans with Village requirements, we have compiled a Special Event Manual, containing application forms, policies, and related materials involved in the Village’s review and approval process. Please read this manual, as well as the full Special Event Policy completely, before filling out a Special Event Application. The application can also be submitted online here

PLEASE NOTE: Any facility reservations need to be submitted and approved prior to completing the Special Event Application. Scroll down for the applicable forms.

Annual Events in Greenville
Greenville Parks & Rec's Family Night
The Greenville Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department holds a free event held at the Greenville Lions Park six nights throughout the summer. Each week's event starts at 6:30pm and offers something different for attendees to do. Alongside the large-scale events such as touch-a-truck, dunk tanks or public safety meet and greats, there are smaller activates like bean bag toss, coloring pages, sidewalk chalk, and sponsor presented fun and games. A food truck is also scheduled to be at each event. Concessions are sold all night by the Greenville Lioness Club and the family friendly movie begins at dusk each week. Bring a chair, a blanket, or sit right on the grass, in the outdoor amphitheater. In the event of wind or rain, the movie will be shown inside The Barn facility.

Sustain Greenville's Farmer's Market
During the summer months, Sustain Greenville hold a farmer's market at Village Hall in the parking lot. They have traditional farmer's market goods such as freshly grown fruits, veggies, and herbs along with traditional Hmong egg rolls, arts, and crafts, food trucks and much more.
