Donations and Sponsorships

The Greenville Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department is an integral and beneficial part of the community. The parks, facilities and services provided by the department are funded primarily through tax dollars. Because the department must stay within the limits of its budget, there are projects and programs that may stay on the “back burner” without assistance from other sources.

Through the generous donations and sponsorships by individuals and businesses many of these back burner projects are able to become a reality. Donations may be made for specific projects or for general use. The department also has several programs listed below that help to improve and beautify the parks and facilities. If interested in making a donation, becoming a sponsor or for more information please call 757-7276.

Donation and Sponsorship Programs:

Family Night Sponsorship - Greenville’s Annual Family Night is fun for all ages – families, teens, grandparents, date night – everyone is welcome! Each week's event starts at 6:30pm and offers something different for attendees to do. Alongside the large scale events such as touch-a-truck, dunk tanks or public safety meet and greats, there are smaller activates like bean bag toss, coloring pages, sidewalk chalk, and sponsor presented fun and games. Concessions are sold all night by the Greenville Lioness Club and a family friendly movie begins at dusk each week.

Memorial Tree and Bench Program - This program provides the opportunity to donate a park bench or tree in honor or memory of a loved one. These benches or trees may be placed at any of the parks or along the trail system and will be maintained though their lifetime by the Town. The purchase of a memorial tree includes a stainless steel plaque that will be installed at the base of the tree. With the bench program, the donor has the option of having a plaque installed on the backrest of the bench.
